Camera Roll Journal by Lilli Elias
Lilli is the founder of Autumn Sonata, the homeware textiles brand known for weaving archival references and historical motifs into modern, elegant objects for the home. the approach to design resonated with me deeply - rooted in travel, observation, and thoughtful transformation. you can actually find the Karin bath sheet in one of my earliest wishlists from nearly two years ago!
Over time, Lilli and I connected online, and I’ve loved following her visual diaries. fragments of architecture, textiles, and colour palettes gathered from around the world. After a year of development, we released a towel collection this spring featuring the Diamanti print, which you can see here.
I recently asked Lilli to share 10 images from her camera roll and a brief sentence on each as a reflection on her summer travels and a glimpse into the quiet details currently shaping her world - a study in atmosphere, memory, and the beauty found in observation.

Villa Medici, Rome – I love so much about this room, but this photo captures the elegance of the textures of the wall and drapery along with the intricacy of the fresco.

Villa Medici, Rome – This wall is such a gorgeous collage and so indicative of the Roman aesthetic of merging elements from different time periods together to create a new form altogether.
03 :
Museum Nazionale Romano, Palazzo Altemps – This is one of my favorite museums in Rome – this fresco is so unexpected and so rich in color and subject.

Church door in Puglia – I encountered several examples of this color during my travels in Puglia and am inspired by the depth and almost tinniness of the color.
